On 30th June 1908 an asteroid or maybe a large meteorite exploded in skies over very thinly populated Siberia in Russia. A few people died in this event and a very large area of forests was devastated.
One can not imagine what damage it would have caused had it have taken place over any of the densely populated metros.
So to create awareness among people about such dangers from outer space , a world asteroid day is celebrated on 30th June every year. AM also has arranged a lecture by Shri. Mone sir on this occasion.
